Meet the Boulder Ridge Herd!

Here at Boulder Ridge, we are currently home to 13 Icelandic Horses.

Byrda fra Hafsteinsstodum Byrda was born in Iceland in 1999, and was evaluated in 2006 achieving a score of 7.81 overall, which makes her a 2nd prize mare. We have owned her since 2010. She is a very sweet, talented mare, and was a very good mom to Brimi and Bruni. (Both boys are Eidur sons). Byrda is a blast to ride! She is a sweet and sensitive mare.	Hrimhildur fra Hafsteinsstodum AKA, "Hilda". Hilda was born in Iceland in 1998 and was imported to the states in 2004 by us. She is 2nd prize mare and achieved a 7.53 overall score. She is a great riding horse and a good mom, she has given us 4 wonderful foals. Hilda is mother to Funi (Kjarni son), Katina (Parker daughter), Skjomi (Eidur son), and Jupiter (Stigandi son). Hilda is now owned by Abby, and is enjoying her semi-retired status, enjoying time with her wonderful owner, and all of her other friends!	Gyðja frá Sveinsstöðum Gydja was born in Iceland in 1995, and we have had her since 2004, being one of our first horses that we imported from Iceland. Gydja is mother to Ara, and is a fun and forward riding horse. She has a fantastic tolt and is unflappable on the trail. Gydja has a heart of gold and has tons of Tolt! Gydja is mostly retired now, but does do some lessons occasionally!
Katina from Boulder Ridge Katina was born here at Boulder Ridge on May 16th, 2010, and she is quite the character. Katina also excels in liberty training with her owner Krista. She is a Daughter of Hilda (2nd prize) and Parker fra Solheimar (1st prize). Katina is a really fun, super smart, talented, and an entertaining horse to work with.	Skjomi from Boulder Ridge Skjomi was born at Boulder Ridge on May 10, 2013. He is a son of Hilda (2nd prize, natural Tolter) and Eiður (1st prize, 9.5 for Tolt). Skjomi is a carbon copy of Eidur! (Which we enjoy so much, as Eidur was a wonderful stallion). Skjomi enjoys trail riding, though he can be a bit jumpy. He is the "go to" horse for riding lessons. He is very smart, a natural tolter, and enjoyable to be around.	Brimi from Boulder Ridge Brimi was born here at Boulder Ridge on April 28th, 2013. He is a son of Byrða (2nd prize) and Eiður (1st prize). He is just like his mom and is very sweet and sensitive. Brimi is excelling as a trail horse, he has 5 fun gaits with his Tolt and Pace being very natural to him. Such a fun and sweet boy!
Bruni from Boulder Ridge Bruni was born here at Boulder Ridge on June 24th, 2015. His mother is Byrda (2nd prize) and father is Eidur (1st prize). Bruni is a lot like his daddy, with the nice conformation and a great Tolt. He is friendly and brave. Bruni is a great riding horse with a lot of natural Tolt!	Jupiter from Boulder Ridge Jupiter was born during a thunderstorm on July 19, 2015 around 11PM. His mother is Hilda (2nd prize, natural tolter), and his sire is Stigandi fra Leysingjastodum II (1st prize, 9.5 for Tolt!). Jupiter is an impressive horse. He has a great presence and 5 powerful gaits. He enjoys trail riding and is a fun horse that can cover some ground! Very impressive gaits too.	Eirdis fra Oddholi Eirdis was born in Iceland in 2003, and came to Boulder Ridge in July 2015. She is super sweet and talkative, we like to call her the "motor", you'll have to meet her to understand. :) Eirdis is 2nd prize, super gaited, and is a blast to ride! She is great to have around as she is so sweet and friendly!
Geisli frá Syðra-Sýrlæk Geisli was born in Iceland in 1998. Geisli is a great riding horse with a temperament that anyone can ride. He is a great Tolter and is an enjoyable riding horse. Geisli is boarded here at BR and is owned by Christine.	Eiður frá Oddhóli Born in 1992, resting since 2022. Eidur was a beautiful chestnut, 1st prize Stallion. Eidur received a score of 9.5 for Tolt at 6 yrs old! We have had Eidur since 2012. Eidur is a fantastic riding horse, with many speeds in Tolt. He is calm enough for almost any riding level. Very well behaved and sweet stallion. Eidur has returned to Valhalla. RIP Eidur Minn
